Tibetan Calligrapgy, its different scripts, its history

The calligrapgy workshops will be introduced by a conference in which Tashi Mannox will explain the sacredness of tibetan writting and iconography in Tibetan Buddhism and its function in the practice of Dharma.

For that purpose, he will draw from the teachings he received from his masters, Akong Rinpoche and Sherab Palden Beru.

Tashi Mannox is a Dharma artist artist who has stidied and practised tibetan calligraphy for the last 40 years. He participated in particular in the decoration of the shrine room in Samye Ling in Scotland, and in that of Brussels and Dublin Samye Dzong.

Learn the sacred art of writing the classical Tibetan Uchen script with world renowned Dharma artist Tashi Mannox.

This is an exclusive opportunity to learn in person over two weekend workshops: 30th - 31st of July and 1st - 2sd of October 2022 in the conducive atmosphere of Samye Dzong in Brussels.

The first foundation workshop covers the correct order and proportionate construction of the Tibetan alphabet and the four vowel signs. The second follow-up workshop covers the sub and super-scribed letters, completing this scriptural repertoire of writing Uchen.

This course of workshops is suitable for beginners as well as those well established in writing Tibetan. A list of recommended specialised pens and materials will be emailed at the time of booking.
